The nominal composition (wt %) of this classification is 22.5Cr, 8.5Ni, 3Mo, 0.15N. Filler metal of this classification is primarily used to weld Duplex stainless steels which contain approximately 22 percent of chromium. Deposits of this alloy have Duplex microstructure consisting of an austenite-ferrite matrix. These stainless steels are characterised by high tensile strength, resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and improved resistance to pitting.
